摘要:  Multidimensional (n-D)  systems refer to systems with dynamics depending on more than one independent  variables. During the past several decades, n-D  systems have drawn a lot of attention, and considerable research results have  been achieved, including modeling, stability, stabilization, filtering and  synthesis, etc. This is mainly due to the extensive practical and potential  applications of n-D  systems in various engineering fields, such as signal and image processing,  robust control of uncertain systems, learning control, medical applications,  wireless sensor networks, etc. Though the basic consideration of n-D(  n>2)system  theory can be often viewed as a generalization of the conventional 1-D system  theory, there exist deep and substantial differences between the 1-D case and  the n-D case, which make the analysis and synthesis of n-D systems much more  complicated and difficult than the 1-D case. This talk will give a brief  introduction to the n-D systems and the n-D system theory as well as its  applications, with an emphasis on the latest developments, accomplished  by the author and co-workers,  on several important topics such as the applications of computer algebra,  especially Grobner basis, in n-D system theory, the H-infinity control of n-D  systems, the multidimensional state-space realization and LFR (linear fractional  representation) uncertainty modeling.
